This walk raises funds for research that leads to better treatments and brings us closer to a cure every day.

Crohn’s Disease affects over 129,000 people across Canada, with over 5,700 new cases diagnosed every year.  It is more than twice as common as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease, and just as common as diabetes or epilepsy.
People with Crohn’s face life with debilitating physical symptoms, social stigma, and mental health concerns.  Risk of premature death is 47% higher than that of the general public.

It’s time to overcome the stigma of living with Crohn’s, and raise awareness.

As part of its 75th-anniversary celebrations, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) presents Winnipeg filmmaker Bob Lower’s documentary, Shameless Propaganda, produced by David Christensen.

To make the 72-minute documentary, Lower watched 500 films produced by the NFB from 1939 until 1945. Lower recreates the picture of Canada they gave us and looks in it for the Canada we know today. What he finds is by turns enlightening, entertaining, and unexpectedly disturbing.

Both Bob Lower and David Christensen will be in attendance to take questions from the audience. The film is also available online at NFB.ca and on DVD, as of May 14.
