Columbus · Hosted by Winnipeg Architecture
When a renowned architecture scholar falls suddenly ill during a speaking tour, his son Jin (John Cho) finds himself stranded in Columbus, Indiana - a small Midwestern city celebrated for its many significant modernist buildings. Jin strikes up a friendship with Casey (Haley Lu Richardson), a young architecture enthusiast who works at the local library. As their intimacy develops, Jin and Casey explore both the town and their conflicted emotions: Jin's estranged relationship with his father, and Casey's reluctance to leave Columbus and her mother.

Debut director Kogonada's Columbus unfolds as a gently drifting, deeply absorbing conversation. With strong supporting turns from Parker Posey, Rory Culkin, and Michelle Forbes, Columbus is also a showcase for its director's striking eye for the way physical space can affect emotions.

Friday Night at C4: Tommy Castillo Memorial
This year marked the premature passing of Tommy Castillo. A fixture of C4 for more years than we can remember, Tommy was a close friend to many of us, and always an amazing guest for his fans to meet - outgoing, with the ability to make anyone laugh with his dark sense of humor.

A brilliant artist, Tommy's work graced the pages of many well known comic titles such as Batman Detective, Legends of the Dark Knight, Toe Tags (with Horror legend George Romero), Evil Ernie, and Tales from the Crypt. If you have photos of yourself with him and/or Sammy, or any pieces of art purchased/commissioned from Tommy, please send it our way! We will be creating a slideshow.

Pride & Prejudice Ball Winnipeg - Hosted by Lady Jane Productions
Live in History, and imagine yourself transported to England circa 1815. It's the world of Jane Austen, where Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennett are dancing by candlelight at the Netherfield Ball, where military heroes such as the Duke of Wellington have returned triumphant from the Napoleonic war, their regalia glittering, where there is dancing to live music, and where a cup of syllabub is yours to sip with a roomful of charming people.

Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and tastes of Regency England with beautiful, period appropriate clothing, dancing, music, drink, and food.

- Please arrive between 6:30 and 6:50 p.m. to register and have your portrait taken.
- The Room Promenade will commence at 7:00 p.m. Guests will be announced at the door, so prepare a fictitious "historic" name... unless of course you have a title.
- The First dance begins at 7:30 p.m with one 30 minute interval. We will take 2 to 5 minute breaks in between each dance.

There will be door prizes, including a special package from the Fort Garry Hotel!

No partner and no dance experience required. A dance partner is easily acquired, as it was commonplace in this period for people to dance with different partners over the course of an evening. Dance lessons are recommended.

English Regency Era dress (c. 1800 - 1820) is mandatory, and the use of cell phones is not permitted in the Provencher Ball Room.
For Ladies, the bare minimum is a full-length gown in a soft fabric with fully covered shoulders. An empire waist is preferable but not mandatory. Flat shoes only, please.
For Gentlemen, the minimum is a tail coat with a vest, a white cravat tie, and a white shirt. Breeches with long socks are preferable, but regular trousers are fine. Oxford style dress shoes. Historical military dress and traditional cultural dress (ex. kilts) are also welcome.
