Aqua Books: Raise a Little Hell

Come to Aqua Books, 274 Garry Street, on Saturday, October 30 at 7:00 pm for a fun filled time, Raise a Little Hell: An Evening of Kick-Ass Literature.

It's guaranteed to get you in the mood for Halloween.

Thriller-action fiction from 2 of Winnipeg's experts on the subject: Winnipeg's Literary Arts Ambassador Michael Van Rooy and U of M professor of horror literature and film, (and video game scholar) David Annandale.

Readings will be accompanied by the sweet serenades of Winnipeg punk metal band, Rockwood.

Michael Van Rooy’s writing is fast-paced and highly entertaining with a mix of quirky humour and dry wit.  Spine-tingling moments alternate with edge-of-your-seat action in his Monty Haaviko crime thriller series.

David Annandale's Jen Blaylock series follows Canada's most notorious rogue soldier on a mission to avenge the murder of her family by a multinational arms dealer.  With epic action-movie scenes rendered on the page, his writing grips even the most distracted gamer.

Rockwood contributes the perfect soundtrack for the most desperate action hero.  Their first CD, City Lights, was recorded last year and features punk legend Mike Herrera.

Have a great day.  How can you miss - you're in Winnipeg!
