Fiction Workshop with Lisa Moore

The Manitoba Writers’ Guild continues to sponsor workshops to writers, with preference given to writers that have published a book or in a journal or magazine.

Lisa Moore will be leading a fiction workshop on Sunday January 23 in the Burns Creative Classroom, second floor Arts Space, 218-100 Arthur Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Minimum number of participants: 5
Maximum number of participants: 10

APPLICATION DEADLINE JANUARY 14, 2011

Method:
All writers will electronically submit up to 10 pages of new work on which they want feedback, and two or three questions relating to the work submitted or to the writing process in general. 
These will be circulated by email to all participants a week before the workshop, and will be discussed during the workshop session.

$100 for members
$150 for non-members that includes a MWG membership

Lisa Moore lives in St. John's Newfoundland.  She is the author of two collections of short stories Degrees of Nakedness and Open.  She has also written two novels Alligator and February.  She teaches online at the University of British Columbia's low-res program. 
Open and Alligator were both nominated for the Giller Prize.

Alligator won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for the Canadian/Caribbean Region and was long-listed for the Orange Broadband Prize and Dublin Impac Award.  

February was on the Globe and Mail best 100 book list for 2009.
