Sylvia Tyson & John Einarson

Thursday May 12, 7:00 pm
McNally Robinson, Grant Park in the Atrium

Join Canadian folk-music legend Sylvia Tyson for this special evening of readings and conversation with local music historian and author John Einarson.

For eighteen years, Sylvia Tyson was one half of the internationally
renowned folk duo Ian and Sylvia.

Their hits included Four Strong Winds and You Were on My Mind

Sylvia Tyson has recorded ten solo albums since the duo split in 1975, and since 2000 has been recording and performing with the group Quartette.
She has also had a distinguished radio and television career.
Tyson is a member of the Order of Canada and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
She lives in Toronto.

Joyner’s Dream, Tyson’s widely acclaimed first novel, is the sweeping story of a family and its dubious legacy: an abiding love of music coupled with a persistent knack for thieving.

A companion CD featuring 11 pieces of original music by Tyson, will also be available for purchase this evening.
