Spirit of the North

In the aftermath of the Second World War, newlyweds Wilson and Judith struggle to build a life together in Calgary.
Then, they receive a surprising offer from Wilson's father's estate: make their home in a remote cabin in northern Manitoba for three years, and receive $10,000.
Loneliness, hunger and brutal winters test their resolve and their love.
Their paths intersect with that of a timber wolf, with unpredictable results.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Linda Ducharmenow lives in Ste. Ambroise.
Spirit of the North is her second novel for Pemmican, following River of Tears
Prior to those, she wrote and illustrated two popular books for children:
Pepere Played the Fiddle and The Bannock Book.
