A Family Farm in Tuscany: Stories and Recipes from Fattoria Poggio Alloro
Arriving at the farm near San Gimignano, the Fiorini family later purchased the farm and made Fattoria Poggio Alloro a model organic, self-sustainable farm. The reader can visit the farm through the hundreds of photographs.
Sarah Fioroni shares stories of the farm and family, how life changes month-to-month,
as well as traditional Tuscan recipes.
Now the farm’s general manager and executive chef, Sarah is also an AIS-certified sommelier, president of the Associazione Strada del Vino Vernaccia di San Gimignano,
and a certified teacher for the Fattorie Didattiche program for schoolchildren.
She teaches cooking classes at the farm and in the United States, where she appears at food and wine events. Interviews have appeared in newspapers and on television.
This evening she will be speaking about life at Fattoria Poggio Alloro and her background while introducing this new book.

An intimate Tuscan Family Dinner
This evening brings an intimate family style dinner in McNally Robinson Booksellers' new private dining area. A carefully chosen selection of Tuscan wines perfectly complements a selection of dishes prepared by Executive Chef Chris Tascona and his culinary team.
Sarah Fioroni will be on hand to host and dine while sharing stories.

Small Works Gallery Opening: Bömwoll Dakj
Margruite Krahn is a multifaceted artist, and a member of the Altona-based Buffalo Creek Artist Collective. Her work has been a part of numerous exhibitions.
Bömwoll Dakj, translated from the low German means “tree wool blanket.”
This artistic journey began with a desire to document the hand-painted patterns created by the Mennonite women from the late 1800- 1940s. This exhibition features cotton canvas coverings, from oil cloth wall hangings and table cloths to floor mats.
Krahn’s long time friend, and now collaborator, Karen Martens, is the helping hands behind her exhibitions.

MCO Music Director Anne Manson in conversation with Michael Oesterle
Michael Oesterle’s compositions have been performed by numerous notable ensembles and soloists including Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt), Aventa, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne; sopranos Karina Gauvin and Suzie LeBlanc, cellist Yegor Dyachkov, and violinist Aisslinn Nosky. His orchestral works have been performed by the Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Victoria, Kitchener-Waterloo and Vancouver Symphonies, as well as by the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He composed the music for several films by animation artist Christopher Hinton, including CNOTE, which won the 2005 GENIE award for best animated-short.
