Rain; road; an open boat

Roo Borson’s new collection continues the exploration of form, tone, musicality, and content begun in her acclaimed previous collection. Here are the river stone that greets the visitor to the grave of the poet James K. Baxter in the back country of New Zealand; the Beijing night sky turned apricot by the smog and full moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival; the crypts of Toronto’s Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Roo Borson has published ten books of poems, most recently Short Journey Upriver Toward Ôishida, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize. She has also won awards for her essays, and, with Kim Maltman, writes collaboratively under the pen name Baziju.
She lives in Toronto.

The Quigley Rescue: A Danny Quigley Novel

"For Danny Quigley and his buddy Scotty McGregor, missing a flight was the start of a journey into hell.”
The action is gritty and unrelenting as the SAS Special Forces duo embark on a NATO mission to rescue an American major and two Afghan officials. It culminates in a fierce fire-fight when the alarm goes off at a pivotal moment and the Special Forces team are forced back up into the mountains, chased by hundreds of vengeful Taliban and Al Quada terrorists.  Russ McDevitt toured Australia in a boxing troupe for 3 years; he was a military cop for 6 years.
