November Events & Trivia Night Fundraiser at Oak Hammock Marsh


The Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre, 30 minutes North of Winnipeg on highway 67 between highways #7 and #8.

November 10
Survival Skills Course, instructed by Maple Leaf Survival
Pre-Registration is required by November 7, by phone.
Members $54 (includes lunch)
Non-Members $54 + Admission (includes lunch)

Minimum age requirement 12 years old. 
Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

November 14 noon
Learn the basic of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) during this hands-on workshop. You will also learn about geocaching, a scavenger hunt involving GPS and GIS.

November 15 7 pm
Astronomy session featuring Sheila Wiwchar from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.  Beautiful pictures of the night sky can be captured by anyone using inexpensive digital cameras, or off-the-shelf webcams. 

An indoor presentation on how to use your photography equipment followed by an outdoor session where participants can practice what they have just learned.

This month's craft: the theme is bird feeding. 
What do our winter friends eat?
The craft is most appropriate for children ages 5 to 10. 
Pre-registration is recommended. 
$5 plus admission.

November 24  6:30 pm
Our very first Trivia Night fundraising event at Oak Hammock Marsh! 

Nature related skill-testing questions as well as a silent and rainbow auction!
Snacks are available for purchase as well as a cash bar. 
All proceeds will go towards wetland education programming. 

Registration is $10 per person; participants will be divided into teams of 8. 
Tickets can be purchased at the Interpretive Centre. Space is limited.
