Tragedy at Dieppe

The gripping story of the Canadian Army’s disastrous raid on Dieppe - the tenth installment of the Canadian Battle Series. Drawing on rare archival documents and personal interviews, Mark Zuehlke examines how the raid came to be and why it went so tragically wrong. It is a fitting tribute timed to commemorate the raid’s 70th anniversary. 

Mark Zuehlke is the author of the critically acclaimed Canadian Battle Series and other books. He has worked as a journalist, been educated as a historian and written award-winning fiction. Zuehlke lives in Victoria, B.C.

The Spirit of Giving: Seven Contemporary Christmas Tales

The book introduces its readers to people who have given of themselves to ensure that others have a meaningful Christmas. One chapter is devoted entirely to letters from children around the world, who describe what Christmas is like for them. 

Ron Blicq has written six books on how to write well, three novels, and numerous plays that have been presented at a UK regional theatre and in the Winnipeg Fringe (his play Closure won the Samuel French [NY] Best Canadian Play award in 2008).

Meet the Composer featuring Gordon Fitzell

Gordon Fitzell has received awards and acknowledgements for his compositions from various organizations including CBC Radio, the SOCAN Foundation, and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (USA). In 2011 he was presented with the Rh Award for Creative Works. 
Fitzell is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition at the University of Manitoba, leads the eXperimental Improv Ensemble (XIE), and serves as an Artistic Director of GroundSwell, Winnipeg’s new music series.
