November 26, 8:00 pm in Prairie Ink Restaurant
SEEWAY

In June 2010, Winnipeg artist Wanda Koop boarded the Birchglen, an ocean freighter,
to travel down the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Joined by filmmaker Katherine Knight and cinematographer Marcia Connolly, this journey formed the backbone of a major documentary film based on Koop’s work and creative process.

Koop’s art is represented in numerous public and private collections, such as the National Gallery of Canada, which, together with the Winnipeg Art Gallery, organized a major survey of her work in 2011-2012. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and founder of Art City, an inner-city art centre in Winnipeg.
