Open City Cinema is excited to present It’s Such a Beautiful Day, the epic stick-figure animation masterpiece by oscar-nominated Don Hertzfeldt.

Hertzfeldt and company have finally released all three chapters in “The Bill Trilogy”, seamlessly edited together into a single feature-length collage film about identity, family, and the meaning of life.
Drawn by hand and painstakingly constructed on 35mm film using traditional and experimental optical printing techniques, Everything Will Be OK (2006), I Am So Proud of You (2008), and It’s Such a Beautiful Day (2011) have screened separately worldwide, been unanimously lauded by critics and audiences, and been prized dozens of times over.

This is a hilarious and surprisingly profound film which has drawn comparisons to the work of Terrence Malick, Stan Brakhage, David Lynch, and Bruce Conner.

The feature will be preceded by Don’s short film Wisdom Teeth (2010), and followed by a small party with music and cheer, where we hope you’ll create art of your own.
