The MWG and the WPL Present a Freedom to Read Marathon
March 2, 10:00 am until 5:00 pm
Every year the Winnipeg Public Library and the Manitoba Writers’ Guild hold a Freedom to Read Marathon to collectively assert our right to the fundamental freedoms of thought, belief, expression, as well as the freedom of the press and other means of communication. We do so by taking turns reading aloud from works that have been, or continue to be, banned or challenged in our country or elsewhere.
We invite you to take part in our efforts, either by spreading the word, coming out to support us, or signing up to read from the work of your choice.
A selection of works will be provided.
