The Scribbler is a literary and visual arts magazine produced by students from Fort Richmond Collegiate. It is composed entirely of student submissions, from written work to art and photography. Care has been taken to maintain a high standard of excellence in both the selection of pieces and the design of the magazine.

At the heart of his poems is the notion that we understand who we are by where we have been; a voice digs deep into a radical Jewish heritage rooted in New York City.
Jacob Scheier is a poet and journalist from Toronto. His debut collection, More to Keep Us Warm won the 2008 Governor General’s award for English language poetry.

Manufacturing Mennonites: Work and Religion in Post-War Manitoba
As the industrial workplace was one of the most significant venues in which competing identity claims were contested after 1945, Janis Thiessen explores how Mennonite workers responded and how they affected class relations. Thiessen provides a comparison of three businesses founded, owned, and originally staffed by Mennonites: the printing firm Friesens Corporation, the window manufacturer Loewen, and the furniture manufacturer Palliser.
Janis Thiessen is an assistant professor in the Department of History at the U of W.

Life is Like a Pot of Soup
Forrest Gump may have seen life as a box of chocolates, but Libby Simon views it more like a pot of soup... elements that simmer slowly over the years, and result in a complex and unique labyrinth of characteristics that make us who we are.
Libby Simon has published about 200 writings in periodicals and journals, in print and online, but this is her first book. Libby lives in Winnipeg with her husband, Harold.

Lake Agassi Murders
Kate Jonsson returns to her hometown of Lake Agassi to escape the city. The residents of this quiet town had been spared the ugliness of the outside world until a suicide occurs. Kate is drawn into the web of secrets among trusted friends and police.
Sherry Lee Benson-Podolchuk is the author of Women Not Wanted, a chronicle of her time as a RCMP officer and how she dealt with a hostile work environment and gendered harassment. She works as a motivational speaker and a consultant on workplace conflict and harassment. She has been part of the UN conference on Women in New York City and a delegate with the People to People Ambassador Program to Israel, Egypt and Jordon.
