The beautiful and unpredictable terrain of the Badlands merges with vivid personal memories in Stria, a stunning solo work by the award-winning choreographer and performer Marie-Josée Chartier.
STRIA refers to a linear mark or groove on a surface, particularly on rock or skin. Chartier’s own visits to the Alberta Badlands prompted her to explore her own personal history and the ‘stria’ that lie within our own bodies.
Chartier surrounds herself with an incredible team of collaborators known for their contribution to the worlds of dance, theatre and opera and all recipient of numerous awards. Director and dramaturge Ruth Madoc-Jones, set designer Trevor Schwellnus, sound designer Thomas Ryder Payne, lighting designer Bonnie Beecher, puppet artist Mathieu René, and costume designer Martha Cockshutt.

Central Canada Lit Fest celebrates Young Adult, Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror.

In honor of Earth Day, let’s jazz up those eco bags.
Bring one of your favorite eco bags (or use one of ours) and learn three easy techniques
to cover up those advertisements and give your eco bag a unique look.
Transfer scientific line drawings onto eco bags and then embroider for a simple, graphic effect. Facilitated by Heather Komus.
Make a unique piece of felt using sheep’s wool, hot water, and soap.
