Casimiro Nhussi

Born in Mozambique, Africa, he has been a dance professional since 1982. Starting his career as dancer, Casimiro then became the principal dancer, and then the Artistic Director of the Mozambique National Song and Dance Company. Currently Casimiro is the Artistic Director and Founder of NAfro Dance Productions. 

He is leader of the Kalahari drumming group, and the NAfro Band as well being a member of Bafana drumming group, the Million Civilian Band and Afri-Can Band. He was commissioned by the National Film Board of Canada to compose music for the animated short "Mind Me Good Now". Casimiro was nominated for the 2010 Western Canadian Music awards for his first CD Makonde. IHe has performed at numerous festivals including the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival and the Winnipeg Folk Festival Friday Series.

300 Years of Beer: An Illustrated History of Brewing in Manitoba

With over 400 colour illustrations of rare beer labels, retro bottles and ads dating back as far as the 1870s, 300 Years of Beer chronicles the days when beer barons like Patrick Shea and E.L. Drewry ruled over an industry all the way to the modern day microbrewer!

Bill Wright and Dave Craig are beer geeks who live in Winnipeg.

The Stop: How the Fight for Good Food Transformed a Community and Inspired a Movement

Nick Saul will share stories from his 14 years at The Stop, a progressive food organization that uses good food to build health, hope and community, and that has inspired a movement of Community Food Centres.  He is a recipient of the Jane Jacobs Prize and the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. He is now president and CEO of Community Food Centres Canada.
