Set in the 1970s, A Matter of Seasons revolves around attempts to alter the destiny of Jamaica’s historical trajectory, and the characters who occupy that stage. 

Karl B. Koth was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He now lectures in Contemporary World History at the University of Manitoba.

The Fehrs: Four Centuries of Mennonite Migration

This documents the lives of fifteen generations of Fehrs/DeFehrs. Their history is traced back to the 16th-century Amsterdam grain merchant Gijsbert de Veer. It is a story about heretics, martyrs, grain merchants and brandy distillers; about pioneers, farmers and industrialists. 

Arlette Kouwenhoven is a Dutch anthropologist working as a publisher and writer.

When the Saints Go Marching In

The fast paced thriller features a new kind of hero, Disaster Recovery Agent Adam Saint. 

Anthony Bidulka is the author of the long-running series featuring another unique main character. The award-winning Russell Quant mysteries tell the story of a world-travelling, wine-swilling, wise-cracking, gay, Canadian, prairie private eye. 

Bidulka has sat on the boards of Persephone Theatre, The Saskatchewan Writer’s Guild, AIDS Saskatoon, Crime Writers of Canada, the International Association of Crime Writers, and is co-founder of Camp fYrefly-Saskatchewan (a life skills camp for LGBT youth).

Kevin Davis is twenty-something, smart and strong. Skilled at navigating the virtual world, Kevin finds himself at protests and blockades because of a girl.  He rediscovers his First Nation roots and becomes a leader. 

Among Jordan Wheeler’s writing credits are the books Brothers In Arms and Just A Walk and, as a scriptwriter and story editor, the TV series Arctic Air, North of 60, The Rez’, and renegadepress.com. Wheeler won a scriptwriting Gemini in 2006.

Choosing Hope: A Mother’s Story of Love, Loss and Survival

Ginny Dennehy discusses how to persevere after life-changing losses. Choosing Hope chronicles her journey from losing her 17-year old son to suicide, to launching a not-for-profit that has raised more than $5 million. She speaks across Canada to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH to the stigma of mental illness. 
All the royalties will be donated to The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation.

The creators of the Lake Winnipeg Writers’ Group have teamed up with the winners of the Write On The Lake Contest.  Readers include Chuck Lovatt, Teresa-Lee Cooke, Richard Bredsteen, Abby Ruzic, Martha Block,Lenora Buffi, Annette Bower, Elizabeth McGill, Anna Kowalchuk, and Jasmine Baptiste-Campbell.

Reading from Bone and Bread and a conversation with THIN AIR Director Charlene Diehl.

Orphaned as teenagers, Beena and Sadhana have grown up under the exasperated watch of their Sikh uncle, who runs a bagel shop in Montreal’s Hasidic community of Mile End. 

Saleema Nayaz received the Robert Kroetsch Award for Best Creative Thesis.  A recipient of the prestigious Writers’ Trust of Canada/McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize, Nayaz currently lives in Montreal, Quebec.
