Food For Folks: Thyme to Get Dill

Fundraise for gardening and food security.  Connecting local farm folks with the music scene in Winnipeg, and bringing a positive spirit to the North End of Winnipeg.
There will be information about the gardening and food production projects.
Eat Street will launch the zine "Eat Good, Eat Cheap".
Seedling will be for sale - we have all kinds of young pepper and tomato plants.

June 8 and 22 - 1 p.m.
This special tour is $3 for members and $5 for non-members. 

Father's Day Waterbug Derby
June 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Equipped with a net and bucket, try to catch some invertebrates in the water and win prizes for the highest score and most unique bugs caught.

Bring dad to the Café for a special lunch from noon to 3 p.m.
Explore the marsh with Allan Webb and his horse-drawn wagon from 12:30 to 4 p.m. 
Extra fee of $5 for non-members and $3 for members apply for this ride.

National Aboriginal Day
June 21
Participate in Aboriginal games, learn the importance of many marsh plants and cook your very own bannock. Listen to the enchanting tales of award-winning author Joe McLellan! Using his drum and loads of enthusiasm, Joe will delight you with tales and readings from his latest book, Nikik and Wapus Save the People.

Summer Bird Census
June 23 - 6:45 a.m. until noon 

Teams of volunteers walk a section of the dike system, recording everything seen and heard.  After the morning walk, a lunch will be served and prizes awarded. 
Participants are asked to be at the Centre no later than 6:45 a.m.
