An Angel Cut: The Life of Mario Zava

To transform a woman’s look from the way the hair is cut – this is Mario Zava’s calling.  Mario began his apprenticeship at the age of eight, arriving in Canada as a young man with $18 in his pocket and not knowing a word of English.

Mario chronicles his true rags-to-riches journey, acknowledging those “angels” who sheltered, guided and watched over him along the way.

Gallery opening showing Further Directions Necessary

This exhibit is the first in the ongoing Gurevich Fine Art at McNally Robinson gallery series.
Dan Donaldson’s latest work deals with instructions, crate handling labels and warning signs.  Lately, I have been creating my own imagery, and drawing or painting it in a style that mimics the look of a ‘cut and paste’ collage.

Speaking & Showing portions of the film The Healing of Heather Garden

For five years, Heather endured painful treatments and increasingly severe symptoms with no medical hope of recovery from Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.  The turning point was when she was introduced to a woman who led her to a different approach to healing. This documentary follows Heather’s journey through the unexpected and steady progress to regaining her health.

While at the Child Guidance Clinic, Judith Morrow obtained an MSW in Family Therapy.
My experience in seemingly impossible situations taught me that words, images and beliefs can be powerful healing tools.  My focus was to offer a story of inspiration and hope.
