March 7, 7:00 pm Opening: Tim Schouten's Spirit Lake Project
The Spirit Lake Project reflects the ongoing conversation between six artists who created artwork on or about the Spirit Lake Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.

These paintings take photographs that Tim Schouten has taken at the reservation as their starting points. They are painted with "encaustic", a hot wax medium in which a blend of waxes and resin is mixed with pigments and applied to a ground. The wax dries almost instantly and is translucent.
