Migration Festival

See thousands of birds using the marsh in preparation for their long journey south. 

Participate in the Migration Medallist Challenge & Giveaways on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. 

Meet the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries IMPACT Ambassadors:
Janine Stephens, 2012 Olympic Silver Medallist, Rowing
Jared Funk, 3 time Paralympic Medallist, Wheelchair Rugby
Josh Wytinck, Professional Golfer

They will be giving away binoculars, bird seeds, plants and medals for all participants. 
Learn about songbird banding with Resident Naturalist, Paula Grieef, from 12 to 4 p.m. 
Explore the marsh by horse-drawn wagon rides this weekend from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Stay for the nightly fly-in of the geese from the rooftop observation deck!

Thanksgiving Birdseed Sale

Stock up on birdseeds, or make you very own pine cone bird-feeder.

Astronomy Night - Migration

The sun goes down earlier and the nights are still relatively warm.

October 18 - 10 a.m. 
Hike the Dyke

Join an interpreter for a guided hike to the lesser seen parts of the marsh. Expect tall plants, insects and other obstacles. Proper walking footwear, clothing and water are a must. No facilities (benches, washrooms, shade) along the outer trails.
Workshop fee: $10 plus admission

Migration Farewell Concert by the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. 

Wine and cheese will be served during intermission.

UMFM Pledge-O-Rama Kick-Off: 
Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers, Heartbeat City & astre

The music Ben Caplan makes with his band the Casual Smokers harkens back to the grittier side of soul music. Joined by locals Heartbeat City and astre, this is a special show for a special cause as UMFM kicks off its annual pledge drive with a goal of raising $32,000 from October 16th to 23rd. 
Pre-pledges of $25 and over will get you a reduced rate of $5 at the door 
so visit to make a contribution and get more information on Pledge-o-Rama 2015.

Envoy - Daniel Caneda is a beatmaker/producer based in Winnipeg. His style of music ranges from Motown soul to 90's hip hop and modern electronic music.

Mama Cutsworth is proud to present the fifth-ever graduation dance party!
In 2012, Winnipeg's Mama Cutsworth started her DJ Academy for All Women, a welcoming space that teaches women the basic skills and confidence it takes to become a professional DJ. Since it began, it has seen over 60 students graduate from the program. After each season of classes, the brand new group of DJs play their first-ever gig for a live audience. 
Think of it as music recital with a heck of a lot more dancing and drinks.

Mama Cutsworth's DJ Academy for All Women welcomes cis, trans, non-binary, two-spirited and any self-identified women to learn how to DJ.

Brady Allard records a lot of music at home, then decided he wants a band, and The Brady Allard Band is born.
