The winner of three Tony Awards (including Best Book of a Musical), the show is based on the 1911 novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Set in the early years of the 20th century, Mary Lennox, a young English girl born and raised in the British Raj, is orphaned by a cholera outbreak when she is eleven years old. She is sent away from India to Yorkshire, England, to live with relatives whom she has never met. Her own personality blossoms as she and a young gardener bring new life to a neglected garden, as well as to her sickly cousin and uncle.

Shows are 7:30 pm (Wed-Sat) with a 2 pm matinee to close the production on the Sunday.

will screen thought provoking films, followed by discussion

10:00 am - Opening ceremonies/Key Note Speaker, Ashley Callingbull. 
Mrs. Callingbull is an actress, activist and was crowned Mrs. Universe 2015.
10:30 am - Screening of Highway of Tears by Matthew Smiley.
12:00 pm - Lunch Break. Lunch will be provided.
1:00 pm - Screening of Miranda's Story by Kane Kirton & Eric Peebles. 
2:15 pm - Break
2:30 pm - Screening of Road to ABFI
About a filmmaking camp at the Adam Beach Film Institute. 
Filmmakers will be in attendance.
Closing remarks by Festival Director, Coleen Rajotte and Ashley Callingbull.
3:30 pm - Dismissal of students

Highway of Tears (Opening Night Film)
Director: Matthew Smiley

The film is about the missing or murdered women along a 724 kilometre stretch of highway in northern British Columbia. None of the 18 cold-cases had been solved since 1969, until a special division of the RCMP managed to link DNA to Portland drifter, Bobby Jack Fowler with the 1974 murder of 16 year-old hitchhiker, Collen MacMillen. Now find out what First Nation leaders are doing to try and swing the pendulum in the other direction.

Folk Fest in the City Fundraiser
We’ll deliver the live music and food of three music meccas, you bring your dancing shoes. 
Flavours of Louisiana, Mexico and Cape Breton will combine with great music, the culinary artistry of Chef Eraj and spectacular prizes. We'll have you thinking you’re walking down Bourbon Street, dancing on a Mexican beach, and jigging in a pub on the East Coast.

Three bands representing each of the folk scenes: 
-Main Stage performers The Mariachi Ghost with their traditional Mexican sound.
-Fiddle-driven Bart House Band will deliver the Cape Breton kitchen-party style. 
-Dirty Catfish Brass Band bringing in the excitement of the Creoles and Cajuns.
