13 Fires is an opportunity for different communities to work towards racial inclusion. We want to build relationships across communities, share our experiences and work, and collaborate on actions that challenge racism. Each month in 2016 will feature a different topic. We welcome participation from all communities and all sectors.

PLATFORM centre for photographic + digital arts presents a lecture by David S. Churchill, Professor of History at the University of Manitoba, presented in conjunction with the exhibition Blue Shift by Jonah Groeneboer. 

Homophile Representation and its Discontents: Visual culture and queer bodies in North American and Europe in the mid-20th Century
Homosexual activists of the 50s and 60s endeavoured to secure civic and human rights for homosexuals as citizens through political advocacy. 
This talk will explore the visual culture of homophiles, the images, photography, and illustrations published in homophile magazines, as well works of art celebrated by homophile authors and activists.

H.U.N.K.S. is Tim Gray, Quinn Greene, Sam McLean, Matt Nightingale, Dana Smith, directed by Rory Fallis. They have performed five shows at The Park Theatre; seven shows at the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival; hosted a sold out, headlining show in the inaugural Oddblock Comedy Block Party and received a Five Star review from the Winnipeg Free Press.

CRUMBS Stephen Sim and Lee White have been performing together since 1992. They started touring Canada in 1998, and in 2001 were invited to the very first Berlin International Improv Festival.
