Do you like to write, illustrate, or perform for children?    

The first 75 registrants will be automatically entered in a draw to win a Blue Pencil mentorship in any genre with keynote speaker Loris Lesynski.  

Sarah Ellis, the Governor-General's award-winning author, starts the day.  

You can choose three Workshops! 

Loris Lesynski, renowned humorist and author/illustrator ends the day.   

Get a one-paragraph pitch plus 1000 words critiqued by agent Ali McDonald or editor Gail Winskill in a ten-minute private session.  
Or get five portfolio pieces critiqued by art director Andrea Casault.

CANSCAIP Conference in Montreal

Yes Oui CANSCAIP will host the second edition of "Imagine a Story", a one-day conference on Saturday, May 28, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, for emerging and established creators of works for children. 
It will take place at Dawson College, 4001 de Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Room 4C1 (Amphitheater).

Author Brian Doyle (Quebec), author Marsha Skrypuch (Ontario), picture-book author Elizabeth Bluemle (Vermont), editor Peter Carver (Ontario), children's poet Ted Scheu (Vermont), and author-illustrator Willow Dawson (Ontario) are just a few of those scheduled. 

The early bird special ends March 28!

Rebecca Bender, Hélène Boudreau, Jennifer Maruno

On Wednesday, March 9, from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, three authors, relatively early in their careers, talk about how they got to their present stage. All began their publishing lives in a less than ideal climate. Find out how they got started, how they work now and where they hope to go next.

CANSCAIP's March meeting will take place at The Northern District Library, Second Floor, 40 Orchard View Boulevard (Just north of Yonge & Eglinton), in Toronto, ON.

Rebecca Bender is the author and illustrator of Giraffe and Bird (Dancing Cat Books). 
Hélène Boudreau is the author of three novels and four non-fiction books. Her most recent is Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings
Jennifer Maruno has just published Warbird, her second work of historical fiction; she has also authored textbooks and educational materials.
