Mimi Mirus l The Taboo Naughty but Nice Show 2014 l Compendium Artist Market Fundraiser

I make small (8-10 inch), four-legged creatures and other figures using batting-covered wire as an armature.  I wrap the armature in strips of fabric and stitch the surface with embroidery thread.  These figures are decorated with beads, wire, feathers and wool.

There will be an art show/auction, music by DJ Coda, and an info/booking booth. 
You'll also meet many of the artists, as well as have a chance to talk with Ryan and Vicki.

Tickets are available at Tiny Feast, Normandy Shop, Little Sister Coffee Maker, and Café Postal. $10 in advance & $15 at the door. Cash only.

We'll also be screening a little film that we are launching as part of our Kickstarter campaign shot by Alexa Lachuta and Jesse Godlow.

Italy’s legendary rock star Zucchero tours Canada performing music from new album La Sesión Cubana which combines Latin, Cuban and tex-mex inspired sounds and rhythms. 

During his career which spans four decades with millions of albums sold, Zucchero has worked with a who’s who list of modern music royalty including Eric Clapton, Brian Wilson, Bono, Buddy Guy, Sting, Brian May with members of Queen and B.B. King.

The RBC Convention Centre is transformed to the streets of ‘The Big Easy’ with authentic tastes, sights and sounds of Louisiana. It is a surefire remedy for the winter blues.

Copper Cowboy, stage and screen performer Stephanie Sousa and, from New Orleans,
Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers
Inspired by tradition, the singer/songwriter accordionist Dopsie plays a unique high energy style of zydeco that defies existing stereotypes and blazes a refreshing distinct path. 

Keep an eye out for aerial acrobatics, stilt walkers, showgirls, drag queens, and a stunning array of other costumed characters. Come in your own costume, or buy accessories onsite and join the Mardi Gras Parade.

Pull up a seat at the huge Food, Oyster and Wine Bar and indulge in specialty foods like freshly shucked oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp, and melt-in-your-mouth alligator fritters. 
Also on the menu are southern favourites like Louisiana crab cakes, deep fried pickle spears, gumbo, sweet potato fries, and more.

Brand new entrees this year are the Bourbon Flamed Garlic Pepper Shrimp, and New Orleans Rosé Farfalle Pasta.
Oyster Shot and Love Potion have been added to the beverage menu, together with Southern Hurricane and Swamp Water - a Winnipeg original!
