Manitoba Association of Women's Shelters (MAWS) will be hosting our AGM on 

September 17

                      Child and Family Services, Family Violence Prevention

We always welcome donations of items such as deodorant, razors, shaving cream, shampoos, conditioners, diapers, diaper cream, sanitary supplies, new underwear and socks (adult and child), toothbrushes, toothpaste, sleepwear, towels, craft supplies.

Membership in MAWS includes nine provincially funded women’s shelters, including Osborne House, as well as several affiliate members working on the area of family violence. MAWS was created to provide: support to member shelters; increased negotiating abilities with funders; shared information and resources; increased public awareness, training of staff and improved services for clients.

 A world where women's shelters get enough funding for food, clothing and necessities 

while politicians - like Senators Pamela Wallin and Mike Duffy - have to fundraise by 

posing for calendars for their expenses.

Just a thought.

Sometimes I just don't understand our politicians, local or federal.
