Wanda Koop is a comprehensive document of her most recent work, merging painting with photography, while highlighting her process as a visual language researcher.

Wanda Koop’s painting career spans four decades and includes over 50 solo exhibitions, across Canada and around the world. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and founder of Art City, an inner-city art centre in Winnipeg.

Go behind the scenes with artistic director Pedro Aurelio for this preview of the company’s upcoming production. The company is known for its stories told through Spanish dance and flamenco. “The Ottoman Front: The Great War in the Middle East”

If the Great War shaped the modern Middle East, it was the Ottoman Front that turned Europe’s conflict in 1914 into a world war.  

Eugene Rogan discusses the Great War with UofM Professor Jennifer Dueck. 

Eugene Rogan is author of The Arabs: A History, which was named one of the best books of 2009. His new book, The Great War in the Middle East, is due in 2015.

In 2006 Keith Wood started using the “encaustic” medium (pigmented molten wax.)  Encaustic is light – a key element of Wood’s work. Just as a jazz musician dialogues with his instrument, creating a work of art involves an intense dialogue with the work.

Sandra shares memories of growing up in a politically charged time in Guyana, her immigration to Canada for an arranged marriage at the age of 16, her life as a hairstylist, and her work toward a doctoral degree. 

S Sandra Sukhan is a professional hairstylist with a doctorate in Environmental Studies. She is a published author and teacher-educator.
