Broadway Modern Architectural tour
Meet in front of Manitoba Club, Broadway and Main Street

This free, 90 minute tour focuses on the post-1945 development of the area as a premier business district and the collection of modernist architecture designed by some of Winnipeg’s most notable firms.
Broadway between Main Street and Osborne Street has long been an address of prestige, book-ended by two dominant, significant works of architecture – Union Station to the east and the Manitoba Legislative Building to the west.
The early history of the avenue was as a desirable residential neighbourhood, with little commercial activity. A building boom in the late 1950s to early 1970s, however, was responsible for the development of the Broadway as we know it.
All surfaces will be wheelchair and stroller accessible. Free and no registration is required.

Pride March for Equality     Update: New Route

Beginning at the E.A. Friesen park, adjacent to the Jake Epp Library, a Pride march down the streets and sidewalks of Steinbach is planned to demonstrate to Steinbach and area that individuals who identify as LGBTTQ* are equally deserving of respect and inclusion.

We will march to publicly state that there are many people who are unabashedly committed to walking alongside all people in the LGBTTQ* community until it is always safe to do so on their own.

Let's support these folks on their first ever pride parade. I think "It's worth the trip." If people want to carpool let me know and I will try to sort that out.  ~ Jeff Stapleton
