A Flock of Bards / Songs for My Father
Over the past decade, both on stage (jazz-poetry duo) and in print (dig! magazine), bassist Steve Kirby and writer Charlene Diehl have been inspired by the parallels in their different art forms. For this Nu Sounds show, they're joined by Will Bonness (piano), Shannon Kristjanson (flute), Simon Christie (trumpet), and Aaron Shorr (guitar).
Together they are A Flock of Bards.
Charlene has written a new suite of poems, "Songs for My Father," scored for the group by Steve. This work moves both jazz and poetry into heartwarming new territory.

Idelette is founder and Editor-in-Chief of www.SheLovesmagazine.com. She’s an immigrant, mother of three and a restaurant wife. In 1999 she moved to Canada. She believes Sisterhood is a powerful and strategic response to injustice.
