Indie rock outfit Mise en Scene was founded by Stefanie Blondal Johnson (vocals and guitar) and Jodi Dunlop (drums), now joined by Corey Hykawy (bass) and Dave Gagnon (guitar). Their breakout album, Desire’s Despair received a 2014 SiriusXM Indies Award nomination. Still Life On Fire is a swelling rumble indicative of their talented forces.

Young Mopes is Louise Burns at her boldest. Burns’ dark pop goth heart is evident on 2011’s Polaris Prize nominated Mellow Drama and 2013’s Midnight Mass.

The Good Will - Social Club, 625 Portage, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 2G4
Les Filles de Illighadad, Guitarist Fatou Seidi Ghali and vocalist Alamnou Akrouni, create sublime music. Their debut, Les Filles de Illighadad, explores very different sides of Tuareg music: dreamy ishumar acoustic guitar and the hypnotic polyphonic tende.

Collection Get! - Eliot Britton and Grace Hrabi’s contrasting performing styles first converged in Montreal. Their debut album, Save. As… is, is a celebration of contrast and technological colour, infusing Grace’s elegance into Eliot’s intricate compositional language.

I’m here to make you dance, feel good - or both is how Zuki describes his purpose as a DJ.

Access to the roof requires climbing a flight of stairs. There is a lift to the lobby.
Join us for an architectural tour of Artspace, the Gault Building, including a visit to the roof for a wonderful view of the Exchange District.

The Gault Building is a good example of a Richardsonian Romanesque-style warehouse at a key intersection in Winnipeg's Exchange District, a national historic site. The substantial masonry structure, designed by George Browne to accommodate the western expansion of Montreal dry goods wholesaler A.F. Gault and Co., was among the first large warehouses built in response to Winnipeg's rise as a regional distribution centre.

The landmark, which, with the annex, fills nearly half a city block, physically anchors three important streetscapes and functionally retains a prominent role as an arts centre containing studios, galleries, offices and a theatre.

This exhibition features works made with children as inspiration, distraction, collaborators and opponents in epic art battles.

The Golden Hour – An Art Exhibition by Sari Habiluk
May 6 to May 16: Tuesday to Friday, 12-6 pm; Saturday, 12-5 pm

The Golden Hour refers to the time period shortly before sunset or after sunrise during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky.
The time holds a personal significance to me. The Golden Hour is when I find myself painting past midnight. At that time I am most inspired and productive.
