This is a porch show outdoors! The Dealer's Choice Tour is a triple bill featuring three award-winning Ontario singer-songwriters: Rebekah Hawker, Sarah Hiltz, and Shawna Caspi.
The first half of the show is a songwriters-in-the-round format, with each artist taking turns swapping songs. The second set invites participation from YOU, the audience (aka The Dealer)! During intermission audience members write down suggestions for song themes and put them in a hat. The artists choose themes for each round and play songs based on those themes.
The performers have to think quickly, connecting their songs to each theme, and the audience is left with a memorable evening. It’s a show that’s different every time!

This meditation on the impact of human and ecological trauma explores the cost of survival for three generations of women. Ens follows connections between the Russian Mennonite diaspora and the disrupted migratory patterns of grassland birds. Drawing on family history, Flyway migrates along pathways of geography and the heart to grapple with complexities of home.

Sarah Ens’ debut collection of poetry, The World Is Mostly Sky was shortlisted for the 2021 McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award.

Sweatman’s novel is both a coming-of-age story and an allegory about Canada-US relations. Set in 1971 during the Vietnam War, Her portrait of a brilliant gunsmith and his eighteen-year-old daughter tells an engrossing story of ruthless ambition, and one young woman’s journey toward independence.

Margaret Sweatman is a playwright and the author of six novels. The last day of Pompei
Can one of the most catastrophic events of the ancient world become the most incredible archaeological adventure ever?
Live stream event from Rome, with SIMONE L., licensed tour guide of Rome and the Vatican City, Archeologist, Egyptologist with 15+ years of experience
-Live Q&A
-Contents suitable for children

When Mount Vesuvius literally exploded in 79 AD , the ancient city of Pompei was cancelled from the face of the Earth. 1700 years later the archaeologists brought back Pompei to life. No ancient city has ever been found in such a wonderful state of preservation.

We'll follow Pompei's citizens for the last few hours of life. We'll shed light on their dreams and fears, their daily challenges and loves. A journey through political corruption, trades, slavery, gladiators fights, graphitti, incredible wealth and absolute poverty.

Attendance is FREE, but TIPS are appreciated

Rally for Subsidized Housing by Right to Housing Coalition

Lack of subsidized housing is a crisis in Manitoba. There are approximately 4,600 households on the wait list for a Manitoba Housing unit. Waiting on the list can last years. With nowhere else to go, many people end up staying with friends or family, in shelters, or outside.
National Housing Day lines up with the appointment of our new premier, Heather Stefanson. As the new leadership sets its priorities, let’s make sure subsidized housing is on the agenda.

We call on Premier Stefanson to prioritize building 300 new subsidized housing units as soon as possible.
Please bring signs showing your support for subsidized housing.
We will be following all Covid-19 protocols. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
