Rally for Subsidized Housing by Right to Housing Coalition

Lack of subsidized housing is a crisis in Manitoba. There are approximately 4,600 households on the wait list for a Manitoba Housing unit. Waiting on the list can last years. With nowhere else to go, many people end up staying with friends or family, in shelters, or outside.
National Housing Day lines up with the appointment of our new premier, Heather Stefanson. As the new leadership sets its priorities, let’s make sure subsidized housing is on the agenda.

We call on Premier Stefanson to prioritize building 300 new subsidized housing units as soon as possible.
Please bring signs showing your support for subsidized housing.
We will be following all Covid-19 protocols. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

There are animals who are loved, but need your help this holiday season.

Why not put together a pet shoe box gift for another family? It might include toys, pet food, and treats for cat, dog, or critter. Wrap the box and clearly identify with a label (cat, dog, critter).
Kids will receive a special holiday take home activity bag.

Drop off: November 27 & 28 – 10-12pm or 3-5pm.
Book your time to drop off the shoe box at the curb side weekend manned by WHS volunteers:

WHS volunteers will deliver pet shoe boxes to community partners for distribution to families in need.

Our limited edition 2022 calendars are now available. Make a donation of any amount and we will mail a calendar to you.
The calendar features the winners of our 2022 Calendar Photo Contest, including the first place winner, Luna. Purchasing a WHS calendar is a great way to show your support. Plus, you get to see some ADORABLE animals!
