Dorothy publishes various periodicals, including The Manitoba Gardener.  
She also hosts a weekly show on gardening on CJOB.

Carol Gamby: Musically Speaking
Carol will outline the history of the Women's Musical Club, in existence since 1894, as well as tell of the club's activities: concert series, the scholarship program and the WMC MCLellan Competition.

Don Peterkin: Journey to Churchill at Assiniboine Park Zoo
Don, the Chief Operating Officer of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, will speak about the $200 million redevelopment plan and the fabulous new polar bear exhibit.

Amanda Thorsteinson: The Story of Uganda, A Story of Hope

Amanda will speak about her work in Uganda and about her work with a small HIV/AIDS care and education organization.  She is a regular on CJOB and has produced a film about orphans in Uganda.

The 120 Year History of the German Society in Winnipeg
Guest Speaker: Heinz Petsch, president of the German Society of Winnipeg
Petsch, who immigrated to Canada in 1974, will talk about the history of 
the German population in Canada.
The mini Oktoberfest will also feature Bavarian yodellers!
