Thea's Diner Show of Support l FREE! JUST TV's 2013 Annual Showcase l Multicultural Food Fare & Holiday Concert l Lite Up a Life l FREE! Sing-a-Long Christmas Concert l Bethlehem's Big Night

Thea's Diner, 133 Main St, Morris, Manitoba R0G 1K0
December 8, 10:00 am

I'm sure most of you have heard the news about Thea's Diner in Morris and the racial discrimination against her restaurant. You probably also know that this is the same location that a gay couple closed shop earlier this year after receiving homophobic discrimination by certain people in the town.

Well, it's happened again. Thea's Diner has decided to close down, feeling defeat. I am disgusted to hear this happened once, let alone a second time.

I would like to propose an idea. I am going to Thea's Diner to show support, love, and compassion. Perhaps it won't prevent her from closing shop. But at the very least hopefully it will make a statement to those who have pushed her and the previous couple to their breaking point, that no amount of hate will ever be tolerated.

To idly stand by is as much a crime and this indifference, racism, homophobia, cannot continue.
Stop wanting change, Stop hoping for change, Be the change!

So, if anybody would like to join me in showing support please, come to Morris and have some delicious Carribbean cuisine. If you don't that's ok, at the very least share this. Let people know because other people may want to come. - Derek Scherbain
