What has really brought most non-terrorist groups to negotiate a path to peace?
What are the prospects for Syria to maintain its sovereignty?
Eva has visited Syria and covered the war there on six separate occasions since 2014. This talk is intended to help explain what actually transpired during the liberation of Aleppo, in particular, and during the past five years in Syria, in general.

Sponsored by: Manitoba Peace Council, CKUW and Canadian Dimension magazine.

No Ban, No Wall! Solidarity with Migrants (Night Demo)
Donald Trump has signed executive measures attacking refugees and other migrants, increasing violent and racist immigration enforcement, targeting sanctuary cities, and funding the extension of the wall at the US-Mexico border. Trump also announced approval for the Keystone and the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), despite resistance from Indigenous communities, particularly at Standing Rock, North Dakota.

We invite Winnipeg Treaty 1 communities to unite in a show of solidarity with migrants.
We will welcome any and all peoples, regardless of whether people have statuses or not, because all are deserving of dignity and compassion.

Also TWO SESSIONS at 12 noon and at 6:30 PM at the US Consulate, 201 Portage Ave.

We also demand the immediate cancellation by Canada of the "Safe third country agreement" with the USA. Trump's recent measures make it clear that the USA is not a "safe third country" and migrants should be allowed to pass into Canada without impediment. Here is a petition you can sign in support.
