Bring Your Own Mic' Online Concert Series, featuring Leonard Sumner

The West End Cultural Centre announces a new concert series called ‘Bring Your Own Mic’. This ticketed, livestream concert series will present the best music from Manitoba's WECC stage for our audiences to watch online through an accessible $2 paywall and streamed on Vimeo. The funds will go to artists. Each concert will be produced by the the West End’s skilled technicians.

Safety is one of our main priorities. We are ensuring performers arrive to a clean and already set up stage (and yes, we are asking them to bring their own microphones).

Anishinaabe MC/Singer/Songwriter Leonard Sumner's sound is evidence of his ability to occupy landscapes of multiple musical genres: Hip-Hop, Spoken Word, Country, and Rhythm and Blues. In this era of unsettling history and healing wounds of the past, Sumner's music is an expression of medicine that walks the line between fortitude and fragility.

Pride Winnipeg Change of Festival Date

Pride Week will now take place the week of September 4th -13th with the Human Rights Conference taking place September 14, 15 and the morning of the 16th.
In working with all our suppliers, vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders, Pride Winnipeg has concluded that it is in everyone’s best interest that this postponement takes place.

Our Pride Flag raising will take place at City Hall on a date to be determined.

Please be assured that Pride Winnipeg will be constantly following announcements made by Health Canada and the guidelines that are enforced by the City of Winnipeg, and the Provincial and Federal Governments.
If the pandemic of COVID-19 continues, Pride Winnipeg will have no other choice than to cancel. Cancellation would be our final measure and we wish to assure our community and visitors that their health and safety is our top priority.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we move forward, together.
For questions please contact media@pridewinnipeg.com
