Wild Fell: A Ghost Story

The crumbling summerhouse called Wild Fell, soaring above the desolate shores of Blackmore Island, has weathered the violence of the seasons for more than a century. Built for his family by a 19th-century politician of impeccable rectitude, the house has kept its terrible secrets and its darkness sealed within its walls.

Michael Rowe is an award-winning journalist and essayist, and the author of several books, including the novel Enter, Night declared by BarnesAndNoble.com to be the #1 vampire novel of 2011.

True Patriot Love: March to the Top l A Night at the Rex: John MacLeod

February 17, 6:00 PM
Winnipeg Free Press News Café, 237 McDermot Avenue

To help raise awareness and funds for ill and injured soldiers, Ben Sabic is hosting a screening of the compelling March to the Top.

The documentary is based on the True Patriot Love Expedition and highlights the challenges faced by 12 wounded and ill Canadian vets as they struggle to the 20,305 ft. high summit of Island Peak, in the Himalayas. March to the Top is not about the injuries and experiences of these soldiers while serving, but about what they’re doing next in their lives and what they need to do to get there.

Prior to the screening Elessar Thiessen and a surprise guest will perform.
Throughout the evening donations will be accepted for the True Patriot Love Foundation.

Sometimes the mountains provide that opportunity for people to look in and challenge themselves, and by challenging themselves, help themselves, Ben Webster, documentary filmmaker and expedition leader.

For many members of the Canadian Forces, the profound effects of physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder are just beginning to surface states Bronwen Evans, a True Patriot Love founding director.

The True Patriot Love Foundation (TPL) was formed by a group of dedicated business leaders to support and honour members of the Canadian military and their families. Since its inception three years ago, TPL has raised almost $11 million for military family health.
