On May 28, at 8:00 pm, Mayor Matt Allen and the Little Buddies will be setting your soul on fire with the release of their second full-length album, SISTERS AND BROTHERS,
at Times Change(d) High And Lonesome Club, 234 Main Street.
Special guests: the award winning country and western outlaw poet Ridley Bent and guitar genius Chris Dunn.
Mayor Matt Allen and the Little Buddies formed six years ago. Don Zueff and Tom ‘Twisty’ Fodey (both of D.Rangers), Kelly Castle (Absent Sound), Ashley Roch (Boats, The Western States) and Grant Siemens (Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans).
Their first album The Life and Times of Christian Banks brought on rave reviews and reached #4 on the national college radio roots and blues charts.
SISTERS AND BROTHERS was recorded with producer Len Milne. The album features
the Klezmer punk sensation Geoff Berner and Winnipeg roots music guru Jaxon Haldane.
Mayor Matt Allen released a debut CD Lonesome Rail in 2004 and in 2009 did a 10-inch vinyl release split Mayor Matt Allen and the D-Rangers. He has shared the stage with Feist, Corb Lund, Romi Mayes, Carolyn Mark, The Deep Dark Woods, Geoff Berner,
the Swifty's and Shuyler Jansen.
