Donate now to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Desjardins Insurance will TRIPLE IT.
As a youngster, Olympic figure skater Isabelle Brasseur's fainting spells went unexplained. Eventually, doctors learned a heart defect could cause her heart to stop as a result of extreme exertion or stress. While giving birth to daughter Gabriella, Isabelle's heart stopped for 31 seconds. A jolt of adrenalin got it going again. Mom and baby were fine.
Heart and Stroke Foundation researchers have taken major strides to prevent sudden cardiac death by identifying the link between fainting and unexplained cardiac arrest. Every dollar donated puts us closer to making more breakthrough discoveries that save lives and support survivors, their families and caregivers.
