Professional Development Seminar: Managing your Priorities as an Artist, Jordan Miller
Do you ever feel like there is just too much on your plate as an artist? Where do you start when it comes to the business side? Artists always say, “we really just want to paint and create” and they don’t take pleasure in marketing themselves.
In this workshop artists will set goals for their artistic careers and the management of their careers. From promotion to creation, this is the workshop to get organized and get to work!

"April Raintree: 30+ years later and a New Edition"
April Raintree is the story of two sisters, separated from their family and one another. They navigate a society that is, at times, indifferent, hostile, and violent. Through this work of fiction, author Beatrice Mosionier reflects the all-too-harsh reality facing Indigenous people – as well as a message of hope, healing, and reclamation.
Join us as Beatrice reflects on the past three decades of the book, unveils a new edition, and answers questions on her life and career.
Beatrice Mosionier was born in St. Boniface, and grew up in foster homes. Following the death of two sisters to suicide, Beatrice decided to write In Search of April Raintree. She previously worked as publisher of Pemmican Publications.

8 pm - Music and Stories
9 pm - Jerry Lee Lewis concert screening on Big 100" Screen with PA sound system
On September 29th, Jerry Lee Lewis is turning 81.
He is the last man standing by continuing to tour with live shows and recording great new albums. But the golden era of Rock'n Roll of the 50-60's is long gone...
This evening is also about getting this music to the young people.
This evening of music and stories will end with a concert screening. Filmed while in his early 50's when JLL still had the fire of rock'n roll with the cool of a wise man and some live scars that make country song sound like a personal story.
