The app synchronizes with Winnipeg Transit Route #10, which passes by some of Winnipeg’s most significant buildings located in three important neighbourhoods: Wolseley, Downtown, and St. Boniface. When near selected places of interest, the narrators alert users and describe the buildings. While the app is tailored for use on the bus, it is also a handy resource that can be used on bike, foot or in a car. Available from the Apple store or Google Play.

CN 2747 Enclosure Project Capital Campaign

Help support the development of a permanent structure over this important historical asset in the community of Transcona.

The main purpose of the enclosure is to have the engine protected from the elements, vandalism, and theft. CN 2747 has been on outdoor display since 1960 and this has caused damage to the overall condition and stability of the engine. An enclosure will help to extend the lifespan of the engine from less than 10 years (as outlined in a 2017 condition assessment). The estimated construction costs are $492,942.

November 12 - Host-a-Block fun begins at 4:00 p.m. / Parade starts at 5:00 p.m.

Consider the CBC Manitoba building the north pole as we are the first (and best) spot to watch the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade. Arrive early for a prime Santa-spotting seat on our bleachers. Santa's jolly helpers, Janet Stewart and John Sauder, will play a few reindeer games and give away some goodies from Santa's swag bag.
We'll have noisemakers, mitts, and a few surprises, oh my!

Get a bit of extra warmth from our friends at Elim Chapel who will be handing out hot chocolate before the parade.
And don't forget to bring your Letters to Santa or a Christmas Cheer Board donation!

Lauren Mann & West My Friend
“Honest & affectionate, with a little bit of whimsy,” is the sentiment behind songstress Lauren Mann’s latest album Dearestly. The songs are a poignant narrative of dark and light set against the backdrop of different landscapes, and chronicle years of touring and personal joys and struggles.

Described as everything from indie-roots to chamber-folk, West My Friend has an acoustic blend of instruments and four-part harmonies that challenges the conventions of popular music. West My Friend’s new album Quiet Hum is out now.
