Kim Eng created Presence through Movement (PTM) during formal sitting meditation. Originally emphasizing practices such as Tai’ Chi, Qi Gong, and Yoga, PTM has evolved into a multifaceted approach combining the teachings of Kim’s partner, Eckhart Tolle.

Author Lisa Cooper discusses her book A Forgotten Land: Growing Up in the Jewish Pale, telling the story of her grandmother’s extraordinary life in the shtetl of Pavoloch near Kiev. In the early 20th century, she lived through pogroms, the Russian Revolution, civil war and the famine that followed, eventually escaping and settling in Winnipeg in 1924.

Scott Price, a researcher and frequent presenter of the Oral History Centre, UofW, explores the history and impacts of the lengthy 1978 Safeway strike as told through the documented stories of the people involved. This strike was one of the largest retail strikes in Manitoba history. Learn the lasting effects that resonate today.

Declan O’Donovan is that songwriter and contemporary troubadour who utilizes a broad palate of voice and piano to tell intriguing stories through the music he creates. At home in the rural environs of Whitehorse, Yukon and equally at home in the urban centers of Montreal and Toronto, this broad sense of place comes into play in the songs Declan has written for his newest release, Broken Sky.

Be ready for your next underwater adventure by enrolling in specialty scuba diving courses. The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue program will teach you about accident prevention and how to handle situations that might occur. You will learn how to avoid, recognize, and solve problems on the surface and underwater. You will participate in academic and in-water sessions in the pool and in the open water.

Portraits have been used throughout history as means of asserting identity, power, symbolism, affiliation, rejection, and so many other ideas. We encourage submissions to PaperWait's Artist Pages on the theme of portraiture: people, places, faces, metaphors ... the possibilities are endless.
PaperWait is aceartinc.'s annual publication that is comprised of the writing that we commission. It also contains juried artist pages that are usually on a theme.
