Low Roar will open the show!

Growing from one man to an eight-piece orchestral band with two recorded studio albums, we are so excited to welcome back San Fermin.
Karazija wrote and recorded Low Roar’s debut album with Grammy-winning producer/mixer Andrew Scheps. Upon releasing the album in 2011, Karazija then recruited Logi Guðmonsson on drums and the two toured Europe, eventually joining the Iceland Airwaves and ATP festival lineups, as well as supported indie favourites Soko and Ásgeir.

Now including Leifur Bjornsson on programming, Low Roar released their second album, ‘0’, co-produced by Andrew Scheps and Mike Lindsay (Tuung), featuring Icelandic darlings Amiina on strings, in 2014.

Hermetic Code Tours

Join Dr. Frank Albo, creator of The Hermetic Code, for a tour of decoding the famous symbols and architecture that make the building unique. Dr. Albo will uncover trails of occult clues concealed in the building’s architecture including hidden hieroglyphic inscriptions, numerological codes, and Freemasonic symbols so intelligently masked they had escaped historians and visitors for nearly a hundred years!
Is it possible that the Legislative Building is really a conduit of magical power?
Is the building’s location in the centre of North America a site for numinous earth energies?
Come and find out for yourself!
Please dress appropriately for the weather as the first 15 minutes of the tour is outside.
Cameras are also allowed on the tours as well as a beverage and small snacks.
You must have valid photo ID on you as you MAY need to present it at the Security Desk.

Winnipeg Comedy Festival

Tickets are on-sale and available online, along with the full festival schedule, at www.winnipegcomedyfestival.com

A stellar list of comedians are getting ready to descend on our city this spring, including Will Sasso, Gavin Crawford, Howie Miller, Nikki Payne, and many more! Festival organizers also believe that buying local is a good habit, and that includes entertainment, too.

‘Buy Local’ also means different things on different levels, according to Artistic Director Lara Rae: “We want to showcase fine local talent, so you’ll see local talent not only in the Indigenous-focused Winnipeg Show, but also peppered throughout the festival – including our much-loved galas.”

Tommy Chong, known for his many comedic film roles over the years, will host the Good Neighbours gala on April 7 at Pantages Playhouse Theatre.

Shazia Mirza will bring her hit stand-up show The Kardashians Made Me Do It to the West End Cultural Centre on April 9.

The Courtneys  with guests

The Courtneys’ musicianship is tight, the hooks are sharp, and the craft is dynamic. Courtney Loove’s dreamy guitar riffs add a timeless pop element to the punk backbone formed by Sydney Koke’s heavy driving basslines, and drummer/lead singer Jen Twynn Payne’s snare kick combos. Their music videos have aired on MuchMusic and Rage, and the track “90210” was featured in an episode of MTVs Awkward in May 2013.

The 25th Anniversary Tour of The Real McKenzies
With special guests Isotopes

The Real McKenzies are a national treasure. Founded in 1992 by the punkrock poet laureate, Mr Paul McKenzie, this merry band of miscreants has spent a quarter century circumnavigating the globe. It would be a serious mistake to write them off as just another Celtic punk band. This is an absolutely monumental giant of an album. Two Devils Will Talk is fourteen tracks of pure, unbridled audio bliss.

Geekdom House Live! watches Battlestar Galactica
Come discover which of your friends are Cylons. Geekdom House Live! returns with an episode of Battlestar Galactica. After watching the episode together we will over-analyze the episode and let it play with our life, faith, and philosophy.

If you're not sure if there is a difference between a Cylon and a toaster, that's ok. We pride ourselves on doing a fairly good job of explaining anything that needs to be explained - so you can enjoy the fandom regardless of familiarity.

The event and snacks are free. A free-will offering will be taken to cover expenses.
Sam's Place folks will be in place to service all your coffee, espresso, and tea needs.
We operate from a Christian worldview, however we have no expectation on others and welcome differing viewpoints into the conversation.

Judah & the Lion Going to Mars Tour, with guests

Like Kids These Days, their debut record, climbed to number two on the genre-wide Heatseekers chart. With their second album, Folk Hop N Roll, the guys shine a light on the place where their influences overlap. Front man Judah Akers, who shares the band's lineup with drummer Spencer Cross, mandolin player Brian Macdonald, and banjo wiz Nate Zuercher. We all grew up loving these hip-hop beats, so why not make an album that has the grit of Run DMC or Beastie Boys, along with all the folk instruments that we play?

Continuing the success of Folk Hop N’ Roll, their hit single, “Take It All Back 2.0”, recently reached the #1 spot on the Alternative charts.
