Being young and in love can be a wonderful thing but in 1937, in the Third Reich, it's all about genetics not romance. Katya is now 18 and working as a maid in rural East Prussia where Nazi fervour runs high.
The third book in Gabriele Goldstone’s series for teens and adults explores the tumultuous life of her mom during the Stalin and Nazi years.
Gabriele Goldstone’s two previous YA novels were The Kulak’s Daughter and Broken Stone. The Kulak’s Daughter received a Silver Moonbeam Award, and was a Resource Links, Best of 2010, pick.

Spain Favorites with Special Guest Federico Garcia Barroso
Are you ready for some virtual travel? Join Rick's live Monday Night Travel party!
Experience the fun, conviviality, intimacy, and spontaneity as Rick hosts a travel happy hour on Zoom from his living room. Each week he'll share his personal, inspirational, and sometimes hilarious behind-the-scenes commentary, followed by a Q&A — your chance to ask questions and interact with Rick.

Join Rick and his co-host, tour guide Federico Garcia Barroso (from Madrid), on a virtual trip to the highlights of Spain. We’ll visit the historic university town of Salamanca and the proud Catalan capital of Barcelona. After dropping by Toledo we’ll head to the southern city of Sevilla, with its lively
Flamenco dancing. And we'll ponder Spain's controversial national pastime, bullfighting.
Order some takeout from a Spanish restaurant in your area to nibble and sip along.

Registration is free and open to all at www.ricksteves.com/mnt but doesn't guarantee admission. Seats can fill up quickly. Your best bet is to join us a bit early.
