Where’s Gesualdo?
March 8, 2014 at 8:00 pm and March 9, 2014 at 3:00 pm

Gesualdo, the maverick Italian Renaissance nobleman/ composer/murderer, has always fascinated us. His strange chromatic harmonies could be from today rather than 1600. In fact, the modern mavericks—Berg, Schoenberg and Stravinsky—loved his work. This concert weaves together works from both periods, plus Andrew Balfour and Michael McKay.
We are honoured to have Christopher Jackson, one of the top early music conductors.

Tickets: adults $28, seniors $23, students $12, available at McNally Robinson Booksellers, by phone 204-918-4547, and at the door of each concert, and through our website.

Camerata Nova continues to participate in eyeGO to the Arts, to encourage students (grades 9 to 12) to attend live arts performances for $5 per concert. Individual subscriptions for 2013-2014 are $50 (adults), $45 (seniors) and $20 (students), and
buddy subscriptions (two tickets to each concert) are $95, $85 and $35.

February 7 to March 23
Jungle Theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis

Shakespeare's Will, written by award-winning Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, premiered in 2005, and has played in numerous theatres, including the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in 2011.

After the death of William Shakespeare, his widow, Anne Hathaway (played by Cathy Fuller), recalls her life with - and without - the enigmatic poet.
Bain Boehlke directs an imaginative story of a wife and mother who made tremendous sacrifices for love and life.  With a compelling period soundscape created by C. Andrew Mayer and Boehlke's set, inspired by Hathaway's Cottage near Stratford-upon-Avon.

Tickets are available at (612) 822-7063 or online.  Discounts are available.  Rush tickets every night 30 minutes prior to the performance for $10 off the regular price.
