Come prepared with a canvas (we suggest 9x12") or media art paper, acrylic paints consisting of primary colours (we use phthalo blue, bright/cadmium yellow and crimson/cadmium or bright red) and black and white, 2-3 brushes of different size, a water cup and paper towel.

Anita Daher is an author and actor who has been entrenched in the book publishing industry since 1995 and has sixteen books published. Anita is the former Chair of the Writers’ Union of Canada.

This meditation on the impact of human and ecological trauma explores the cost of survival for three generations of women. Ens follows connections between the Russian Mennonite diaspora and the disrupted migratory patterns of grassland birds. Drawing on family history, Flyway migrates along pathways of geography and the heart to grapple with complexities of home.
Sarah Ens’ debut collection of poetry, The World Is Mostly Sky was shortlisted for the 2021 McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award.

Sweatman’s novel is both a coming-of-age story and an allegory about Canada-US relations. Set in 1971 during the Vietnam War, Her portrait of a brilliant gunsmith and his eighteen-year-old daughter tells an engrossing story of ruthless ambition, and one young woman’s journey toward independence.
Margaret Sweatman is a playwright and the author of six novels. Her novels have won the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award, the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction, the McNally Robinson Book of the Year, and the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic.

Winnipeg Downtown Skywalk Tour with tour guide is local history columnist and blogger Christian Cassidy, (West End Dumplings, Winnipeg Places).
This tour takes you through Winnipeg's downtown Skywalk system from the Convention Centre to the Richardson Building. Find out how the downtown south of Portage Avenue transformed from a leafy residential neighbourhood into the city's Central Business District in less than a century.
