QueerLore: An evening of Personal Queer Stories and Narratives

This Genderfest Winnipeg event is hosted by the Winnipeg DykeMarch and features Vancouver award-winning queer author, Amber Dawn, who will share her stories!

Amber Dawn is a writer, activist and performance artist. She is the author of the Lambda Award-winning novel Sub Rosa, editor of Fist of the Spider Woman: Tales of Fear and Queer Desire and co-editor of With a Rough Tongue: Femmes Write Porn. She currently teaches Speculative Fiction Writing at Douglas College. Her memoir How Poetry Saved My Life: A Hustler's Memoir will launch in April 2013.

Justin Rutledge’s fifth studio album, Valleyheart

Park Theatre
Valleyheart is, at the core, an album about translating memory.
Rutledge has worked with such pivotal directors as Daniel Brooks and Morris Panych,
and collaborated with Michael Ondaatje on adapting his novel Divisadero for the stage.
Rutledge was also the composer and music director for Canadian Stage’s production of
The Arsonists, featuring Michael Ball and Sheila McCarthy.

Janet Dwyer will also discuss how to control quality and direction of light, exposure and color balance. She will address participants’ questions, and present ideas for lighting sets that one can construct. This Bootcamp will be more theory-based than hands-on.
In addition to shooting for many renowned artists and numerous galleries, her clients include the Royal BC Museum and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Since 1978, she has taught photography workshops and instructed at colleges and universities across Canada. Janet is the contributing author on this subject in Robin Hopper's book Stayin Alive, a survival guide for artists.
