Using the chaos of war and terrorism as backdrops, Lewis DeSoto and Wayne Grady bring us two captivating stories of love and loss. 

Lewis DeSoto's first novel, A Blade of Grass, was an International Book of the Month selection. His new novel, The Restoration Artist, references his other passion: painting.  

Wayne Grady is the author of fourteen acclaimed non-fiction books and has edited eleven anthologies. He has won a Governor General’s Award for Translation. He has just released his novel, Emancipation Day, an exploration of the cross-sections of race and Canadian culture in WWII.

Forever Captured: Band Camp Chronicles: The Early Years

What happens when adults get together to play music 18-20 hours a day? Rules are made as you go along while stimulating the economy with liquor sales and trying to hide in the bushes from the Camp Director.

Sue Thomas has been an ADULT band camper for almost 25 years and rehearses with many bands both nationwide and in the United States.

A presentation by Clearwater String Quartet cellist and WSO principal Yuri Hooker and composer and GroundSwell Artistic Director Michael Matthews. They will speak about works from GroundSwell, and about the appeal of the string quartet. 
The Clearwater String Quartet opens GroundSwell’s season on 
September 25, 8:00 pm at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church.
