Online Social Activism and Facebook 101

This hands-on introductory workshop will share practices for using platforms such as Facebook for networking and advocacy, as well as discuss privacy and security concerns when engaging in these online spaces.
Beginning with a short demonstration from the FemRev Collective on how online social activism works, the workshop will help participants:
- set up a Facebook account
- adjust their privacy
- discuss ways to develop your online network
Advanced Facebook users will break-off to share experiences and troubleshoot problems.
There will be time for questions and discussion, and a handout with further resources.
Bring wireless devices such as laptops, smartphones, ipads to follow along with the workshop content.
