Aboriginal Writers Collective: Reading & Youth Workshops

St. James-Assiniboia Library, 1910 Portage Avenue
January 26, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

It’s been said that Aboriginal peoples juggle two worlds: their cultural world, where sharing and a sense of community are major virtues, and the mainstream world,
which can value materialism and getting ahead.

It’s not easy.

Add the opposites of tradition versus modernity, urban life versus the reserve, stewardship versus development and you have a recipe for challenging and interesting lives.

Join us as members of the Aboriginal Writers’ Collective of Manitoba and friends share original work about their own balancing acts.

Free.
All are welcome.
